AS MASSAGE AND BODYWORK THERAPISTS, much of our energy is exerted on others’ physical maintenance. Too often we neglect to focus on our own self-preservation. Having a healthy individual routine is critical to avoiding the effects of stress, burnout, transference, countertransference, compassion fatigue, and chronic pain symptoms in our care for others.
If we engage in self-care mindfulness practices daily, we benefit most by developing skills that help us better manage our own needs, avoid overextending ourselves to others, and create an existent work/life balance.
Practicing Mindful Self-Care through Zen Practice is meticulous behavior that helps us hone in on the little details. This term combines the consciousness of mindfulness with the intrinsic commitment to self-care. It teaches us how to ascend into our most refined self (through Zen) and maintain that ascension (through Mindful Self-Care). Zen is the construct; Mindful Self-Care is the maintenance, and this requires that we train our minds daily using healthy home self-care mindful practices, just like we develop a plan to train our bodies!
Jill White-Huffman combines her Mindful Self-Care curriculum with the teachings of Zen to bring you: Experience Zen as a Lifestyle; This path towards mindful self-care guides individuals into a healthier well-being by teaching them how to prevent or reduce stress/burn-out, through MINDFULNESS.
It is without saying, you must take care of yourself before you can take care of others.
Cost includes a handout

Thai Foot Reflexology extends from some of the world’s oldest traditional medicine practices. In Thai Reflexology the focus is on encouraging the flow of energy throughout the entire body. Comparatively, in Western Reflexology the focus is on points on the body.
Note: Thai Foot Reflexology can be performed on a massage table or reclining chair. The client remains fully clothed during treatment. Thai Foot Reflexology is not used to diagnose medical conditions, nor does it replace a physician's opinion.
Thai Foot Reflexology is a natural, alternative therapy that relieves stress and fatigue while improving circulation, relaxation, and tension and eliminating waste in the body. It stimulates the body's organs, oxygenates the tissues, and enhances body systems. Clients often report feeling a sense of overall well-being mentally and physically.
This course was developed to provide individuals with the knowledge and skills to perform a Thai Foot Reflexology massage. Using the techniques and practices of Thai Foot Reflexology that include clearing and opening blockages and SEN (energy lines) on the lower legs and feet, participants will learn how to work on reflex points, zones, and sen lines using their thumbs, knuckles, and palms, etc.; as well as learn helpful ways to utilize tools like the massage stick to promote healing within the entire body. After completing this course, and in due time, participants will learn how to alter and direct energy in the body to heighten its natural healing abilities.
Cost includes handout and wooden tool
