KNEE PAIN
KNEE PAIN: If you're experiencing knee pain, you may notice stiffness and swelling. The knee is essential for sitting, walking, squatting, and jumping. There are two main muscle groups that support the knee: (1) Hamstrings – muscles located at the back of your thigh that extend from the hip to just below the knee and help bend the knee; (2) Quadriceps – four muscles at the front of the thigh running from the hip to the knee, responsible for straightening the knee from a bent position. Common symptoms include overuse and injuries such as Iliotibial band injury (a thick band running down the side from the hip to the knee), kneecap fractures, bursitis, throbbing pain around the kneecap, torn ligaments and cartilage, and sprains and strains. If you're suffering from knee pain, consult a professional. If everything is fine, a massage might be beneficial.
